The challenge
A Victorian townhouse near the centre of Marlow: the top-floor master bedroom held heat all evening, and riverside humidity made summer nights feel hotter than the thermometer said.
Meanwhile the rear home office, a converted reception room with big garden-facing glazing, was too hot for video calls by 2pm and expensive to heat alone in winter.
What we did
Two independent Daikin single splits rather than a multi-split: the rooms are on opposite sides of the house, so separate systems meant shorter pipe runs and lower cost.
A whisper-quiet Perfera in the bedroom (19dB night mode) with the outdoor unit in the side passage, out of sight from the street, and a Sensira in the office with ground-level outdoor unit behind the garden fence line.
The result
Proper sleep through the hottest week of the year, with the unit inaudible from the bed.
The office now holds a steady temperature year-round, heated in winter by heat pump for a fraction of what the radiators cost, both installs done for £1,310 total, fixed.
